More commonly known as Ashe, she is heir to the royal throne and only daughter of King Raminas, who was killed in the Archadian invasion of Dalmasca along with her eight brothers. After her kingdom's defeat, she was pronounced dead (thought to have committed suicide), but took on the alias of "Amalia" and secretly joined the resistance against the Archadian Empire in hopes of freeing Dalmasca from its oppression.
In the opening scenes of the game, Ashe is married to Prince Rasler Heios Nabradia, but he dies soon after while defending against the Archadian invasion.
A descendant of Dynast-King Raithwall, Ashe hopes to use the "Dawn Shard"—a special, powerful Nethicite—to aid her in her fight for Dalmasca's freedom.
